Osaka has put up an incredible amount of Christmas lights along the main thoroughfare and they look absolutely splendid. So splendid that the first night they were turned on we were coming back from Costco and ALMOST got sucked into the traffic and hordes of people going to see them. I was lucky enough to have noticed in time to veer out of their in time.
I did go back another night to take a pic though. The cold got to me though and my lack of patience meant some crappy photos. Plus, I was anxious to go to one of my old haunts down the road.
This was parked in front of the Shinsaibashi McDonald's with a group of other "tuner" cars. Not my kind of car but still interesting.
The following weekend I went out to Meihan Sports Land to check out some drifting by myself. The cold was KILLER that day and I didn't last long. I took as many photos as I could and these are only a few of them. For more please see my car blog at - http://www.roryfollowscars.com/
Once the cold hit my inner core I jumped in the car and headed for unexplored roads. That is proving to be a harder thing to do each time I visit the track because there are only so many roads around there. This time I was fortunate to find some new ones and unfortunate enough to rub my new front downpipe on tiny farm road and rub off the exhaust heat wrap in a spot. Crap.
I thought I had been to this place before but just in case I took picture to look it up later. Such an interesting river of rocks.
I drove through Nara city again, this time getting more lost by trying to take shortcuts that were not known to me at the time. It didn't work out. However, Nara is jam packed full of history and has interesting points of interest at every corner. So, even being lost will give you tons of cool places to see. I was too busy trying to not rub my side view mirrors on oncoming cars to take any pictures though.
Snow started to fall as I was nearing the mountain between Osaka and Nara and I decided to drive up and over the back way to find more of it. I didn't but I did get a nice albeit cloudy view-
