After our stop in Iga we went another hour or two to the east past Nagoya to meet up with our friends from Tokyo. I had wanted to stop at a race track nearby for some super cheap racing but with the time lost in Iga I decided to skip it. However, on the way to the hotel I noticed a track and made a quick u-turn to check it out. The name escapes me at the moment but it was a pretty small but new track right on the water. And, had I taken a 1hr safety class I could have been out there with the other cars racing around for about $70. Again, lack of time.
This stock looking 86 was about to head out-
It looked like a small RX-8 club had gathered for some racing fun-
Motorcycle racing was interlaced with cars throughout the day-
Just around the corner was our hotel where we met our friends and checked in as quickly as we could. The pictures can't show it but the winds were incredible! No beach action for anyone that day :(
Yukino's friend Ken brought everyone towels that were funny for some reason-
The hotel is in a once popular hot spring area right on the water. It seems like it had seen better days though-
I wanted to explore the area so I set off alone and up a hill next to the hotel-
The whole area-
Our place was is the one on the bottom right-
Once safely back inside I found dinner was about to be served and the guys were braving it out in the rooftop outdoor onsen bath. Unfortunately they said they were unable to enjoy it due to the wind. Bummer.
Next up is dinner and family time!
